Hello,

I have a question regarding Medicare benefits:

1. If a patient was admitted as Medicare part A then NOMNC was given after 6 weeks, then MDS was informed by Business Office that the patient has no Medicare benefits left at the time of admission. Admission/5day was done and transmitted. Do we copy the assessment as Admission and  inactivate the Adm/5d and the DC PPS assessment and dated the time we completed it and transmit today?
2. If a patient discharge one week ago under Medicare part A and went home discharge return not anticipated and came back to ED and was readmitted to SNF with no qualifying stay. Can we still use the previous qualifying stay for Medicare benefits since its within the 30 day period. Patient has a new diagnosis of T2 fracture on re-admission.
